Overlap is an AI video clipping platform. Teams run it themselves, or Overlap's team runs managed clipping campaigns for them on accounts the customer owns, priced per delivered view.

Every vendor figure is the one printed on its pricing page on the date shown. Overlap’s platform is a custom quote from sales, and the managed-campaign band is its published rate.
Two ways to buy. The platform is a subscription; the managed campaign is priced on the views it delivers.

Twenty rows, the same on every comparison page, so the five tools line up. A cell is what the vendor’s own page says on the date it was checked. “Unknown” means no page we opened answers it.

Each row’s footnote is the Klap source. Overlap’s column is read from its documentation and its own site, listed as sources 14 to 27.
Moving from Klap to Overlap
What a team gives up and what it gains, in the same voice. The number after each line is its source in the list under the table.
What you give up
A published price. Klap prints three plans and its API rates; Overlap’s platform is a custom quote from sales.1
A free first video. Klap lets you make one without a card and states no watermark on any plan; Overlap publishes no free tier.4
A longer list of pasted links. Klap takes links from Vimeo, Twitch, Google Drive, Zoom, Loom and Riverside; none of those is among Overlap’s documented sources.4
A printed language count and translation. Klap lists 52 languages and translates clips; Overlap’s docs list neither.6
An embeddable editor. Klap’s API can create sub-users and embed its editor inside another product; Overlap’s API docs describe nothing like it.11
What you gain
Runs that start on their own. A workflow listens to a YouTube channel or playlist, a Dropbox or Frame.io folder, an RSS or podcast feed, an audio livestream or an RTMP/HLS stream.14
Nine publishing platforms against Klap’s four, adding X, Facebook, Threads, Snapchat and Bluesky, with cadence rules, approval and a calendar.19
Chained editing steps. Find Clips, Convert to Vertical, Style Video, B-roll, music, filler and curse-word removal and routing nodes in one saved workflow.14
Audio-only shows. Klap works on video podcasts; Overlap takes an RSS or podcast feed and has an Add Audiogram node that turns audio into video.28
An MCP server with 30 tools and a REST API that can trigger any saved workflow.22
The option to hand it over. Managed campaigns run by Overlap’s team on accounts you own, priced per delivered view.25
Overlap vs Klap, answered
Yes, for the clipping itself. Both find moments in a long video, caption them, reframe them to 9:16 and post them. They differ in how a run starts and who does the work. Klap processes the link or the file you give it. Overlap runs a workflow that starts on its own when a YouTube channel, a Dropbox folder, an RSS feed or a livestream has something new, and Overlap’s team can run the whole campaign for you on accounts you own.
Overlap posts to nine platforms from accounts you connect: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube including Shorts, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Snapchat and Bluesky. Klap names four on its homepage: TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn. Both can schedule posts ahead. X is not mentioned on any Klap page we checked.
Klap publishes its prices and charges for the clips you generate. Basic is $29 a month for 100 clips, Pro is $79 for 300 and Pro+ is $189 for 1,000, or $14, $39 and $94 a month billed yearly. The first video is free. Overlap’s platform is priced on a custom quote; contact sales for one. It is billed on processing hours and active workflows, and managed campaigns are priced at $0.50 to $2.50 CPM on delivered views, up to a monthly ceiling you set.
Both have a REST API. Only Overlap has an MCP server. Klap’s API takes a video, is polled until the task finishes and exports the shorts, and it is billed per operation. It can also create sub-users and embed Klap’s editor in another product. Zapier’s directory has no Klap app, and two Klap marketing pages promise webhook callbacks that its API docs do not describe. Overlap’s REST API triggers any saved workflow, polls results and renders clips, and its MCP server has 30 tools for Codex and Claude Desktop. Overlap has no Zapier app and no webhooks; its watched sources start runs instead.
Overlap can. Its team runs managed clipping campaigns on accounts you own. It picks the clips, edits them, publishes them and reports back, and you keep the accounts, the followers and the posts. Klap sells software only. Its sitemap has no services, agency or managed route, and it sells to agencies as a tool that replaces editing work rather than as a team that does it.
Run it yourself, or have us run it.
Overlap is an AI video clipping platform. Teams run it themselves, or Overlap's team runs managed clipping campaigns for them on accounts the customer owns, priced per delivered view.
Run it yourself
Connect the sources you already publish from, set the brand rules once, and let the workflow turn long recordings into edited, captioned clips. Your team reviews and posts to nine platforms from one calendar.
Or have us run it
Overlap's team runs the clipping campaign on accounts you own. You set a monthly ceiling, spend follows the views that were delivered, and the accounts, the posts and the audience stay yours.
