Switching notes

Moving from Vizard to Overlap

What a team gives up and what it gains, in the same voice. The number after each line is its source in the list under the table.

What you give up

  • A published price. Vizard prints its Creator and Business plans; Overlap’s platform is a custom quote from sales.1

  • A free tier. Vizard gives 60 credits a month with a watermark and 720p exports; Overlap publishes no free tier.1

  • Webhooks. Vizard posts the clips’ metadata to a webhook URL when a project is ready; Overlap’s API is polled.12

  • A printed language list. Vizard’s help centre names 40 transcription languages and 128 for subtitle translation; Overlap’s docs publish no count.6

  • Pasted links from more places. Vizard takes links from Google Drive, Vimeo, Loom, Twitch, StreamYard and Rumble; Overlap’s sources are the seven in the table.7

What you gain

  • Runs that start on their own. A workflow listens to a YouTube channel or playlist, a Dropbox or Frame.io folder, an RSS or podcast feed, an audio livestream or an RTMP/HLS stream.15

  • Nine publishing platforms, including Threads, Snapchat and Bluesky, which Vizard does not list, with cadence rules, approval and a calendar.20

  • Chained editing steps. Find Clips, Convert to Vertical, Style Video, B-roll, music, filler and curse-word removal and routing nodes in one saved workflow.15

  • An MCP server with 30 tools, which Vizard does not document, and a REST API that can trigger any saved workflow.23

  • The option to hand it over. Managed campaigns run by Overlap’s team on accounts you own, priced per delivered view.26

Overlap vs Vizard, answered

Yes, for the clipping itself. Both find the moments in a long video, caption them, reframe them to 9:16 and post them. They differ in how a run starts and who does the work. Vizard processes the video you upload or link, then schedules the clips it made. Overlap runs a workflow that starts on its own when a YouTube channel, a Dropbox folder, an RSS feed or a livestream has something new, and Overlap’s team can run the whole campaign for you on accounts you own.

Overlap posts to nine platforms from accounts you connect: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube including Shorts, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Snapchat and Bluesky. Vizard posts to six: TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Instagram and Facebook Pages. Its free tier posts to TikTok only, from one account. Threads, Snapchat and Bluesky are not listed on any Vizard page we checked.

Vizard publishes its prices: Free at $0 with 60 credits a month, Creator at $14.50 a month billed yearly at $174, and Business at $19.50 a month billed yearly at $234, with extra seats at $5 a month each. Monthly billing costs more than yearly. A credit is one minute of video processed. Overlap’s platform is priced on a custom quote; contact sales for one. It is billed on processing hours and active workflows, and managed campaigns are priced at $0.50 to $2.50 CPM on delivered views, up to a monthly ceiling you set.

Both have a REST API. Only Overlap has an MCP server. Vizard’s API is on its Creator and Business plans. It creates projects, returns ranked clips, publishes them to social accounts, and can post to a webhook when the clips are ready. Vizard documents no MCP server; its API page offers an n8n workflow template and a Skills file for Claude Code and Cursor. Overlap offers a REST API that triggers any saved workflow, polls results and renders clips, and an MCP server with 30 tools for Codex and Claude Desktop. Overlap has no webhooks; its watched sources start runs instead. Neither has a Zapier or Make app.

Yes. Overlap’s team runs managed clipping campaigns on accounts you own. It picks the clips, edits them, publishes them and reports back, and you keep the accounts, the followers and the posts. Vizard sells software only. None of the pages we checked, its page for agencies included, offers a done-for-you service.
